Polartec manufacture fabrics that excel at handling the demands of next to the skin environments. The fabrics keep you dry when you sweat and provide warmth without weight. Many of the fabrics feature a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces providing a durable nylon outer layer which is wind and abrasion resistant with the soft inner layer pulling moisture away from your skin keeping you dry warm and comfortable.

Polartec Power Stretch
Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin causes discomfort. To avoid this Polartec Power Stretch a 4-way stretch and breathable fabric that is able to keep the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms:
- The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.
- "Touch Points" on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is then able to be wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric where it spreads rapidly for evaporation.
- When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric it spreads out to many times its original surface area enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.
Polartec Thermal Pro
Polartec Thermal Pro fabrics are the most technically advanced of the Polartec insulation fabrics. They are available in a variety of unique surface textures and patterns which are designed to enhance performance and the new high loft versions achieve very high warmth to weight ratios.
How does it work?
The 100% polyester velour, pebbled, or shearling surfaces create air pockets that trap air and retain body heat providing outstanding warmth without weight. The fabrics offer excellent breathability and dries quickly minimizing heat loss. Some styles also provide a water repellent finish that sheds rain and snow.
